Shooting Straight Radio
Welcome to Shooting Straight Radio podcast!! This program (formerly known as "Shooting Straight Radio Show" on WMMB and iHeartRADIO) is all about firearms, the 2nd Amendment, and all things pertaining thereto. It is hosted by Royce, a veritable super-spreader of Constitutional propriety as well as a firearms instructor with multiple certifications, including endorsement by the National Association of Chiefs of Police as a defensive pistol instructor. It has been said that he is saturated with gunshot residue, toxic masculinity, and a faint, yet wildly tantalizing whiff of the cologne of his people (Hoppe's #9) as he delivers his unexpurgated commentary on all things firearm and 2nd Amendment-related with 100% felt recoil and no suppressor. As an Ultra-Type-A personality, he is exceedingly generous (and sometimes comically brutal) with his opinions and doesn't mince words. A staunch Constitutionalist, he calls out infringements when and where he sees them. Royce is often joined on the program by special guests like Dale Comstock (DELTA Force), John Rea (SEAL Team 6), Max Mullen (Army Ranger), Quentin Carter (a.k.a. "Q"), Gary O'Neal (American Warrior), Boon Benton (USMC, Benghazi warrior), Sarah "Superbad" Adams (CIA targeter), Col. Danny McKnight (Black Hawk Down), Izzy Matos (USMC combat vet), Ash Hess (U.S. Army combat veteran and instructor extraordinaire), Massad Ayoob, Hank Hayes (Professor Emeritus of Badassology), Spike Cohen (spikecohen.com), ATF whistleblower Peter Forcelli, Erich Pratt and Luis Valdes of GOA, and many more. So tune in to Shooting Straight (a.k.a. 2nd Amendment University) and share it around with your fellow Constitutionalists. Keep your head on a swivel, keep a loaded gun on your person (and spare mags), and never forget that incoming rounds always have the right-of-way.

Concealed Carriers Are More Protective and Lawful Than Cops
In this episode, a stark comparison is shown between the lies of the civilian disarmament cartels and the actual facts about keepers and bearers. While the "Everytown" communists are creating articles decrying concealed carriers as being the catalyst for "gun violence", a recent report by John R. Lott, founded on actual research, blows their moronic assertions out of the water, because it shows that concealed carriers stop more active shooters than police officers do.

study out that I'm going to share with you in a little bit but first I'm going to
give you an article that was printed and you can find that on the Every Town for
Gun Safety website where they decry this idea of national concealed carry reciprocity
and make out that it's going to just cause all manner or it's going to allow all
manner of gun violence and mass shootings and all sorts of crazy crap.
If God forbid us little peon, we the people are able to carry firearms across state
lines and in every state, and the entire country is going to be awash in blood up
to our hubcaps of our vehicles somehow if we are allowed to freely exercise rights
that we were born with. And this, I tell you what,
whoever wrote this is a mentally wilted brain ass. Of course,
every town is all about civilian disarmament. They're weeping and wailing and gnashing
their teeth over this proposed law. And to them, this is the equivalent of
Armageddon. Oh yes, this is horrible.
Us lowly, low life ordinary citizens are somehow unfit to carry guns into other
states. And one thing to carry it in our own state, yes, for them, that's
acceptable, not really, but they say it is. But for some reason,
when we go into another state, and that state is ordered by the federal government
to recognize our permits, that is somehow going to lend to and lead to more gun
violence. Yes, that's one of their contrived terms, by the way. Violence is violence.
If you split someone's head open with a hatchet, please tell me how that's different
or lesser than being shot. I can assure you, having witnessed quite a few nasty,
grisly scenes, picked up bodies from murder scenes and suicide scenes,
that the amount of damage can be done with a knife is far worse than a gun could
ever do. Yeah, really. You would not believe some of the things that I have seen.
I'm not going to go into it in depth, but I will tell you right now, probably
half of you out there would lose your lunch seeing some of the things that I have
seen and that I have witnessed. So to them, guns equal violence.
Yes, gun violence is worse than hatchet violence, knife violence, fist violence, feet
violence, baseball bat violence, monkey wrench violence, and any other kind of
violence that could possibly be out there, gun violence is the worst according to
them. Yeah, so fair warning, the following article is polluted with lies,
half -truths, and demonstrably false allegations against lawful citizens like you and
I. They reference a lot of studies and other articles, and every last stink in one
of them are leftist sources. So that ought to tell you where this is headed.
Here's the article title you can find on the "Every Town for Gun Safety" website.
It's titled "A Federal Mandate Would Override State Laws That Protect the Majority of
Americans." Really.
Do tell. Oh, they try to cite all manner of studies and everything. Again, all
coming leftist sources. We're going to use common sense because that seems to help
us a lot better than a lot of these slanted studies and such. Here's how it goes.
It says in the United States today, people in every state are allowed to carry
concealed guns in public.
The horror. But most people live in states where their representatives have determined
that permits for carrying these guns are a vital part of protecting the public.
That's a lie. That's a lie. 29 states actually have permitless carry.
That's more than half of the United States. Just throwing that out there.
Um, By the way, I don't give a crap what their representatives have determined.
We're having a fight with our representatives here in the state of Florida because
they are tone -deaf to the Constitution and we're trying to tell them to get the
heck out of our way of the free exercise of our God -given rights. Anyway, back to
the article. Further, it says, existing federal law already addresses the issue of
transporting firearms through states. Law -abiding gun owners are allowed to transport
securely stored firearms in a vehicle through a state, even if the state law would
otherwise prohibit them from carrying within that state. Well, I've got news for you
people. This isn't about simply transporting firearms through various states.
It's about being able to defend ourselves in any state within the Union,
which is consta -freaking -tutional. From sea to shining sea is our concealed carry
zone, whether you like, it's actually our open carry zone too, according to the
founders. My goodness, you people are so constitutionally illiterate, really.
Importantly, this proposed mandate is different from how other licensing agreements
between States have been handled, such as with driver's licenses. States voluntarily
accept each other's driver's licenses. There is no federal mandate.
They choose to do this because all states require a license to drive and generally
have similar standards. Okay, guess what? 28 states voluntarily also accept each
other's carry permits to and without a federal mandate right out the bat.
So if they, if there is a federal mandate, what exactly is your problem? Oh,
that's right. You hate the free exercise of the Second Amendment. I got it. That's
all right. In every state in the country, residents must actually drive a vehicle
and pass a test before obtaining a license. And guess what? Vehicles Vehicle steal,
kill more people every year than guns, you're welcome. By the way, driving is
considered to be a privilege, keeping and bearing arms is a right. By contrast,
the variation between strong and weak concealed carry laws, what's a weak concealed
carry law anyway, throughout the country is dramatic. By the way, a law is only as
strong or as weak as its enforcement or as or as citizens comply their with,
okay? They ask as a rhetorical question, would you want someone from another state
who had never passed a driving test and may never have driven a car before on the
highway next to you and your family? Well, first, if they're driving properly and
endangering no one, how in the heck would we know if they were licensed and
schooled on driving or not. I was driving long before I ever got my license.
I don't know, really. I had a neighborhood friend named Tony Vickers used to have
me drive his truck all over the place. If he'd had too many to drink, he told me
to drive. I was driving long before I was ever licensed. Never harmed anybody. Never
that was before I had drivers in high school too. Oh, hope sure this company isn't
listening. They say letting states choose who can carry concealed handguns within
their borders protects us. How? How?
What about other criminals who don't bother getting the freaking permit? They are the
ones that are the problem. And by the way, you'll probably hear this again
throughout this program. They make no differentiation between criminals with guns and
law abiding citizens with guns. They never do because if they did,
it would shoot down all of their crap and they know it. It protects us because
what works for some states may not work for others. Oh, I could run a rabbit trail
right there, but I'm gonna shut up a kid and stay on course 'cause I don't want
my rabbit brain running all over the place like it certainly does. In the American
system, states have always been empowered to make these decisions. Oh, suddenly
they're worried about state's rights, I see. And indeed, gun carrying practices and
social norms very widely in different regions and between urban,
suburban and rural places. What works for some states may not work for others.
Letting states make their own choices about who may carry concealed handguns within
their borders, preserves states' rights to protect public safety.
Okay, one more time. No state has the authority, the constitutional authority to even
so much as demand we get a permit to carry in the first freaking place. What about
Vermont? All of you leftist? That's a leftist state. They have had constitutional
carry since the freaking constitution. That is a left leaning state.
Bernie Sanders hails from there. And yet they have been named the safest state in
the union multiple times. How do you account for that? You bunch of brain jackasses.
The proposed federal mandate could, and here they get speculative, because they like
to assume they can read the tea leaves and foresee any maladies that may come our
way, could also open the floodgates for people who pose a danger to our communities
to carry concealed loaded handguns in public. Well, first of all, idiot, they're
already carrying concealed handguns in public, idiot. This law does not allow
criminals to carry concealed guns in public. Idiot. This is because while guns
purchased through license dealer require a background check, many guns are bought from
unlicensed sellers. For example, online or at a gun show without any background check
at all. And that is a freaking lie. You can't buy a gun online without a
background check. If you purchase a gun from someone online, they are not going to
send it to your front freaking door. They're gonna send it to your dealer who has
to send a copy of his license to the place where the person purchased it from.
We do this every day, people. I know this inside and out. I am in the industry.
We have to send, If someone calls us and say, hey, this is XYZ gun dealer in
Minnesota and we need a copy of your license because someone bought a gun from us
online and we have to have it shipped to you. Okay, we send them a copy of our
license. They send us the gun. We perform the background check. It cannot leave our
place, our store without a background check. So that is a bold face lie.
You people know it's a lie. The people that wrote this article I'm speaking to, you
know it was a lie. You knew it was a lie before you wrote it. You people just
make me sick. Gun shows, most gun shows will not let just a private citizen come
in there and start setting up all kinds of guns to sell people. They're going to
make, they're going to tell them you've got to run a background check. You find
another dealer that will run the check for you or something, but you got to do it.
That's been happening for a long time. It happens out of the Melbourne gun show
near me, and it happens all the other gun shows that I know of. I don't know any
of the dealers that work the gun shows where it doesn't happen. They continue. In
the 28 states without background checks on all gun sales, oh, what,
what, what? That's a lie. what they're referring to is universal background checks.
So even if you sell one of your private guns to your friend or a family member,
they in those states like Commiforna and New York City and all the other places
that have been conquered via gun control, they have universal background checks and
they say that if you're gonna sell one of your private guns and your private
collection to another private citizen that that transaction has to be performed in
front of and at the premises of a firearms dealer, a licensed firearms dealer.
So that's commie speak for universal background checks. This 28 states they don't
have background checks on all gun sales. I like the way y 'all word that.
You just you just go out of your way to be as deceitful as possible, don't you?
You filthy leftist loons. In 28 states without background checks on all gun sales,
people who are prohibited from having guns can easily buy one through these private
transactions with no questions asked. This could include domestic abusers or felons.
I got news for you people. If somebody wants a gun badly enough, they'll get one
regardless of how many impediments you set up in front of lawful citizens. A
concealed carry permit may be the only background check some of these folks ever
receive, and the only opportunity to stop those who are prohibited.
Okay, idiots. If these people are already attempting to circumvent background checks
on firearm purchases, What makes you think they're going to apply for a carry
permit? Most criminals already carry constitutionally.
In other words, without the state's permission. Where do people come from?
And who ties your freaking shoes? Oh, they say it's going to have a bad impact on
public safety, though. In a landscape, they said, where state requirements for
concealed carry permits have changed rapidly in recent years with 17 of the 29
permitless states repealing their permit requirements in just the last six years.
It's important to understand the risk and impact of increasing the presence of guns
in public spaces. Well, that's a lie. The presence of gun in public places and
spaces is not the issue. Guns and the presence thereof are never an issue.
The issue is the number of criminals with guns in public spaces. Spaces?
Spaces. Our presidents and other dignitaries are surrounded by men with guns every
day. And yet they are the best protected people on the planet because of men with
guns. But yeah, those are secret service agents and they're highly trained. Oh,
shut up. We're gonna get into an article here in a little bit. And by the way, I
can also reference John R. Lotz article years ago in his very comprehensive study
that lawful keepers and bearers thwart and stop one and a half million crimes
annually, violent crimes annually, and most of the time it's simply stopped by the
mere presence of a firearm and the bad guy don't want to get shot. He rethinks his
career choices and he takes off like a track star.
So research reveals the serious threat to public safety that comes from allowing
people to carry a concealed gun in public, in grocery stores, public parks,
and on public transportation without vetting or training. Well, that's a lie.
Provable, once again, by pointing to Vermont. Constitutional carry since the inception
of this nation, since the founding of this country, Vermont, okay?
Vermont. They've never had a problem, again,
they're the safest state in the nation multiple times over. Most states that have
repealed the concealed carry permitting requirements in recent years have seen an
increase in gun homicides and gun death rates. That is an utter fabrication.
The studies that they cite are from their own kind of people. Yes,
from commie mommies and mom's demand and all this other garbage and all these other
Giffords groups and Brady and all this other trash. They're all in bed with the
same people all getting funded by the same people It's no surprise that when states
allowed people to carry a concealed loaded handgun in public without a permit Let
alone training or live fire experience gun use and misuse increased.
That's a lie. That is not true. And they have, they don't even bother trying to
offer any kind of a backup article on that one at all. They said when states
eliminated their concealed carry permit requirements, more people died from guns.
Bull fertilizer, that's a lie. A new federal mandate would risk the same outcome
across the nation, particularly in states that have retained and even strengthened
their permit laws. You mean like New York, where you can hardly get a permit, much
less carried anywhere.
Strengthen their permit laws and concealed carry standards. When states eliminate
strong concealed carry requirements, the rate of gun assaults increases. Bull crap.
That's a lie. States that abandoned strong concealed carry permitting systems,
including those with live firearm training requirement for permitless carry between
1981 and 2019 saw an average 32 % increase in gun assaults.
That's a lie. On the ground, this resulted in approximately 21 additional people
being shot each year for every 100 ,000 residents. That's in a course they cite.
So what should I say, acceptance and promotion of infanticide,
you can call it abortion if you want, it's murder,
states with concealed carry permit requirements that included prohibitions for violent
misdemeanors convictions, live fire requirements and the authority for permit issuers
to deny an applicant based on a history of dangerousness or questionable character
saw 22 % lower firearm assault rates and 30 % lower firearm homicide raised in states
without these standards. Lie. These studies highlight the public safety benefits of
strong concealed carry permitting requirements. Gun violence in public like road rage
shootings is more common in states without sealed carry permit requirements.
That's a lie. Yeah. That's a lie. I'll say you're a liar.
Whoever wrote this, you are a liar. One more time. Look at Vermont. Having a gun
in the car emboldens drivers to behave in ways they otherwise wouldn't. There it is
right there. Yeah. Did you catch that? This is how they think about the average
citizen carrying a firearm. We're all irresponsible and just having the gun in the
car is gonna lead to some road rage shooting.
A lot of these road rage shootings are performed by a concealed carrier defending
themselves against some and approaching their vehicle with a bat or a knife or in
multiple cases with machetes and other things like that. Yes, not all these shootings
are murders. Not all these shootings are malicious. Matter of fact, I believe the
majority of them are defensive. Oh, but if Kamimamis and all these people had their
way, oh, you wouldn't be able to defend yourself because they love institutionalized
defencelessness. They believe the ordinary people are overcome with murderous desires
simply because they bought a gun. Do you know why they think we think like that?
Because they think like that. You're welcome. Policies that make it more likely that
people will bring firearms into their vehicles only worsen this issue. Well, wait a
minute, weren't you counterwalling commies saying earlier that safe passage laws
through states were okay? As long as the guns were kept in their vehicles and not
on their person, y 'all just can't help but contradict yourselves, can you? Overriding
laws requiring permits to carry concealed guns in public increases the rate of fatal
shootings by police. That's a lie. For law enforcement, the prospect of more people
carrying hidden handguns, many without a permit, is not only challenging, but
dangerous. Police officers need the ability to verify that people carrying concealed
loaded guns in public are legally allowed to carry them to protect both those around
them and themselves. Well, that makes no sense, because cops don't usually know who's
carrying concealed guns around them in the first place because they're not able to
see them because they are, listen here's the operative word, "concealed." You're
welcome. The only time they usually find out someone's carrying a concealed gun and
that it's a felon carrying a concealed gun is when they have pulled them over on a
traffic stop or caught them in the middle of they crime or caught them later after
they had committed a crime. They say additionally, this poses a risk to those
interacting with police. If officers are concerned that everyone they speak to or
pull over is carrying a hidden gun, they may be more likely to respond with force.
You got proof for that? No, of course not, as usual. When researchers compared
states that require concealed carry permits with states that remove the requirement,
they found that the rate of fatal shootings by police in states without permits was
on average, 13 % higher than expected had the requirement remained in place.
How in the world do you quantify such an asinine comment? What if those police were
actually shooting real bad guys and not innocent concealed carriers who have it is
run afoul of the cops? Because that's what they're making this out to be Forcing
states to allow people from all other states to carry concealed handguns could
Complicate the job of law enforcement Well, if that was true such complications would
already be happening, but they're not. Overriding state concealed carry permit systems
would allow people from other states with vastly different permitting requirements or
no permit at all to carry in public. This could be challenging for law enforcement
and dangerous for the public. So the free exercise of our rights is contingent upon
how easy or difficult it may make it for the police? Wrong. A federal mandate is
also unpopular, they say. Let me translate that for you.
The free exercise of your rights must be subject to popular opinion. Nope,
it ain't. Researchers aren't the only ones who say that overruling state permitting
laws is a bad idea. So do people and organizations across the country.
Yeah, organizations like Giffords and Brady and Kamimamis and all the other gun
control disarmament cartels. A federal mandate would go against the wishes of the
majority of Americans. Well, that's a lie. All you gotta do is look at the most
recent election map in 2024 that was almost saturated with red and very little blue.
"You're welcome. That's unsupported by the facts," Jack asses. When guns are present,
people report that they are less likely to feel safe on public transit,
less likely to shop at fairs and farmers markets, and less interested in recommending
a park to a friend. Oh, well, we don't want to inhibit people from shopping at
fairs and farmers markets and, or we don't want to have to not recommend a certain
park to friends of ours. So let's give up our free responsible exercise of a God
-given constitutionally protected right. Yeah. This proposal has also historically been
unpopular with state and local law enforcement due to the unique challenges it
creates. Okay, once again, the free responsible exercise of the right to keep and
bear arms has never harmed an innocent person. Prove me wrong if you want. If you
can, you can't. And how popular that may or may not be with members of the law
enforcement community is absolutely meaningless. You understand that? You make it sound
like the free exercise of our rights is contingent upon popular opinion and the
opinion of law enforcement and the opinions of our state representatives. It's not.
Police often have nowhere to verify whether an out -of -state permit is valid. That's
bull fertilizer they most certainly do. It's very easy. It takes minutes actually.
That's why national law enforcement partnership to prevent gun violence. You know who
they are, right? Yeah, that's the law enforcement version of commie mommies. Maybe we
call them commie cops responded to federal efforts to override state concealed carry
permitting laws by stating they quoted this obvious step in the wrong direction would
sow chaos and uncertainty making a cop's job harder and citizens less safe.
You mean like in all the states where the black -clad Antifa pukes are torching
Tesla dealerships? Well what about back in 2020 when they were burning cities to the
ground and the cops stood by? Apparently didn't make the cops job too hard they sat
there on the hood of their vehicles and watched the thing burn, attorneys general,
mayor, city council members and prosecutors have long agreed that a federal mandate
on concealed handgun carry would make their jobs more challenging. One more time.
Who cares? And how would they know? How would they know? Because the law abiding
people are not the freaking problem. The law abiding keepers and bearers are the
most law abiding demographic in America today over and above all the police officers,
all of the attorneys general, all of the mayors, and all of the city council
members. It would also undermine states' rights. Oh, y 'all are also pro -states'
rights now, since states have long held the authority to decide who can carry a
concealed gun in public and where concealed guns are prohibited. I got news for you
people. States do not have any such authority. According to our constitution,
the Supreme Law, the Second Amendment and the 14th Amendment in particular. Matter of
fact, not even Congress, not even the Federal Congress has the rightful authority to
dictate that according to the Second Amendment. Their conclusion was this,
a federal mandate forcing every state to accept every other state's concealed carry
standards, including those without any permit or safeguards at all,
is dangerous and unpopular.
The only people the free exercise of our rights is dangerous to is criminals and
totalitarians who want to disarm us, and the indoctrinated minds of pathetic, whiny
little communists who are taking money from people like Soros and Bloomberg to act
as a front organization for civilian disarmament. Now they're presenting this as if
criminals will be allowed to carry guns, which is not true at all. That's not true.
There's nothing in these laws that says, oh, anybody can carry criminals, y 'all,
everybody, just anybody, yep, go ahead, can't carry them anywhere anytime. That's not
what this is saying. And notice, again, that they make zero differentiation between
criminals and lawful citizens. Let's give them one last punch in the face before the
commercial break. Remember the beginning of the article, the opening sentence of this
article, where they Instead, in the United States today, people in every state are
allowed to carry concealed guns in public. Okay? If they're already carrying concealed
guns in public, then what exactly is your problem here with a federal mandate that
requires states to align themselves within the confines of the Constitution and
basically do what everybody's already freaking doing already. Now, this next article
is going to drive them into a seething, apoplectic fit, and we'll talk about that
when we come back after a brief commercial. Time out. Don't go anywhere. We've got
a lot more to go here on Shooting Straight.

law, which is being proposed in Congress, which basically orders all states to honor
everybody else's concealed carry permits. Now, already,
people, there is already such a mandate in place within the Second Amendment and the
14th Amendment, okay? Whether you like that or not, it's already in place. They're
simply gonna recodify something that already exists, which pisses me off, but it is
what it is. Contrary to the previous article, as I said, keepers and bearers are
the most lawful and protective demographic in American society today,
over and above police officers.
Because of this, we have a duty to ourselves, we have a duty to our families, our
communities, our state, and even our country to keep and bear arms in defense of
it, okay? Now, too many Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that personal
defense and defensive family and others is strictly a job for police And no other
citizens are qualified to perform these protective duties, but cops.
But according to a study by John R. Lott, I referenced him earlier when he,
he came out with a study. I don't remember what year it was, but basically it
found that violent crimes are stopped by armed citizens in the United States at a
minimum, an bridge of one and a half million times annually. So he also performed
this study with the research company that he's part of. And he said,
we found the concealed carry permit holders stopped 51 .5 % of active shootings
compared to 44 % stopped by police. Wow.
And he made a very good comment. He said, you'd never know it from watching
television, but civilians stop more active shooters than police do and do so with
fewer mistakes. According to a new research from the crime prevention research center,
where I, John Lott says, serve as president in non gun free zones.
That's very important. Where civilians are legally able to carry guns, concealed carry
permit holders stopped 51 .5 % of active shootings compared to 44 .6 % stopped by
police. They found that in a deep dive into active shooter scenarios between 2014
and 2023. Now that obviously implies that in gun -free zone,
excuse me, in gun -free zones, such things are unable to happen.
That's very true. That is implicitly stated here, maybe not directly, but certainly
implicitly. They continue. Not only do permit holders succeed in stopping active
shooters at a higher rate, but law enforcement officers face significantly greater
risk when intervening. Our research found police were nearly six times more likely to
be killed and 17 % more likely to be wounded than armed civilians.
Oh and why? Because the bad guys don't see us coming. They're looking for the guy
wearing all the gear on his waist in the shiny badge and he's gonna be the first
target. Well meanwhile concealed carriers are making the bad guy their target.
John Lott's continuity said those numbers paint a fuller picture than the FBI's crime
statistics, which failed to include many of the defensive gun uses my organization
has catalogued. But the problem with the FBI's crime statistics isn't just the errors
in their reported data. They also fail to address useful questions like how concealed
handgun permit holders compare to law enforcement." He says also,
"Cash Patel and Dan Bongino face a major challenge in reforming how data is
collected and reported by the FBI." Well, that's very true too. They face a lot of
challenges other than that, but we're not going to get into that right now. And he
continues with the heading under what we found in this particular study.
They said from 2014 to 2023, Crime Prevention Research Center researchers found that
armed civilians stopped 180 of 515 active shooting cases.
By the way, I'm not going to use the word civilians here anymore because police
officers are also civilians. They're not military. They're civilians too.
You've heard my pet peeve about that before. The study continues of the attacks in
places where people were allowed to carry. We found that permit holders stopped 158
of the 307 instances, in other words more than half.
The FBI defines an active shooting as an event where an individual actively attempts
to kill people in a public place, excluding shootings tied to robberies or gang
violence. An active shooting could be as simple as a single shot fired at a lone
human target, even if the shooter misses. So if they're shooting at one person
within a crowd of people, that That is very easily, could play into a mass
shooting. The crime prevention research center's findings tell a very different story
than the narrative you'll see on television. Now, here's some allegation by the
leftists that Mr. Lott addresses in this study. Now, one of the allegations is,
well, you armed citizens can't be trusted to try to stop an active shooter. You're
gonna hit innocent innocent bystanders. They found that of the 180 total instances
where an armed citizen stopped an active shooting, did permit holders end up
accidentally shooting bystanders? Oh, no. No, in one case only.
At one instance, and it wasn't fatal. Also, They say armed citizens will just get
in the way of the police doing their job. That happened in zero cases,
0 % of the cases. They also claim citizens with guns will just get themselves
killed. Well, they found that, that only happened in two incidents.
They also asked the question, Were they injured while saving lives in 44 cases that
they did 24 .4 % was the shooting they prevented likely to be a mass public shooting
in 58 % of the case of the 58 cases. Yes, 32 % that is.
Did they have their gun taken away in the aftermath? Yes. In one case, that is 0
.56%. By the way, none of the cops had their guns taken away. taken away. The study
continues civilians, citizens, I hate the word civilians, don't succeed in stopping
every active shooter situation, but the alternative isn't exactly perfection.
Police officers are often at a disadvantage because their uniforms make them an
obvious target while citizens, excuse me, can stop an attacker attacker before being
noticed. Compare the number from active shootings stopped by police versus those
stopped by armed citizens and permit holders stack up pretty well. In 156 cases
stopped by law enforcement, we found that police accidentally shot the wrong person
in four cases, killing fellow officers twice and citizens twice.
That's more than double the rate of citizens accidentally shooting a bystander.
According to our research 27 police were shot and killed while trying to stop an
active shooter a 7 .7 percent rate which is nearly six times higher than the rate
than the rate for permit holders. 100 police were wounded a 8 .6 % rate compared to
24 .4 % for permit holders. These findings highlight a reality that is often ignored.
Responsible gun owners and keepers and bearers, I might add, save lives.
Concealed handgun permit holders are not the reckless vigilantes they're portrayed to
be, but they are law -abiding citizens who step up in moments of crisis when seconds
matter and the police are minutes away. You understand that this denigration of us,
this constant defaming of concealed carriers of lawful keepers and bearers,
is intentional. And frankly, I would love to see all of us mount a massive class
action suit against all of these gun control civilian disarmament cartels because they
defame us regularly. They falsely alleged things about us all the time.
They paint us up to be a bunch of irresponsible, dumbass rednecks running around,
just looking for a reason to pop a cap on somebody when that is the furthest thing
from the freaking truth. They make us out to be nothing but irresponsible,
yeah who's, and they make it out that somebody without training that has a gun is
gonna do nothing but hurt other people and probably themselves when that simply
doesn't happened when 1 .5 million defensive gun uses annually in America,
99 .9 % of them happen without a shot being even freaking fired.
You understand?
Yeah, no shot even fired. Bad guy sees the gun, bad guy says crap, wrong move, and
he takes off. But yet we're portrayed to be the bad people.
They make no differentiation between us and the criminal element of this country.
They make us out to be beneath law enforcement and law enforcement is somehow
superior to us because allegedly they have more and better training,
which is not true. That's a farce and I can prove that repeatedly. And I don't
have time to get into that right now. The fact of the matter is people, we, the
armed citizenry, we are more than police. The defenders of our freedoms,
the defenders of ourselves, the defenders of each other. And we're being painted as
if we just can't be trusted to carry guns in public. That is a steaming pile of
bullfrontalizer. Stay in contact with your reps and get yourself some more training.
