Shooting Straight Radio
Welcome to Shooting Straight Radio podcast!! This program (formerly known as "Shooting Straight Radio Show" on WMMB and iHeartRADIO) is all about firearms, the 2nd Amendment, and all things pertaining thereto. It is hosted by Royce, a veritable super-spreader of Constitutional propriety as well as a firearms instructor with multiple certifications, including endorsement by the National Association of Chiefs of Police as a defensive pistol instructor. It has been said that he is saturated with gunshot residue, toxic masculinity, and a faint, yet wildly tantalizing whiff of the cologne of his people (Hoppe's #9) as he delivers his unexpurgated commentary on all things firearm and 2nd Amendment-related with 100% felt recoil and no suppressor. As an Ultra-Type-A personality, he is exceedingly generous (and sometimes comically brutal) with his opinions and doesn't mince words. A staunch Constitutionalist, he calls out infringements when and where he sees them. Royce is often joined on the program by special guests like Dale Comstock (DELTA Force), John Rea (SEAL Team 6), Max Mullen (Army Ranger), Quentin Carter (a.k.a. "Q"), Gary O'Neal (American Warrior), Boon Benton (USMC, Benghazi warrior), Sarah "Superbad" Adams (CIA Target Analyst), Col. Danny McKnight (Black Hawk Down), Izzy Matos (USMC combat vet), Ash Hess (U.S. Army combat veteran and instructor extraordinaire), Massad Ayoob, Hank Hayes (Professor Emeritus of Badassology), Spike Cohen (spikecohen.com), ATF whistleblower Peter Forcelli, Erich Pratt and Luis Valdes of GOA, and many more. So tune in to Shooting Straight (a.k.a. 2nd Amendment University) and share it around with your fellow Constitutionalists. Keep your head on a swivel, keep a loaded gun on your person (and spare mags), and never forget that incoming rounds always have the right-of-way.

GOVERNMENT Safety Is More Important Than YOUR Safety
Royce expounds on the real reason behind gun control laws and the contempt that government officials that pass them have for the people. A great example of this comes out of North Carolina, where Gov. Stein just vetoed a permit-less carry bill that would have restored the rights of 18–20-year-old adults there to freely exercise their right to keep and bear arms. The reason (excuse) given by the governor and several sheriffs was that signing this bill into law would somehow make law enforcement and the public "less safe".
Listen as Royce destroys this fallacy and share this episode around!

ripping up GOA, NRA, FPC, and Second Amendment Foundation.
That's Gun Owners of America National Rifle Association, the Firearms Policy Coalition,
and the Second Amendment Foundation he's talking about. He said they're ripping them
for being sellouts on the suppressors, etc. What are your thoughts on this? Hey,
I'm glad you asked that. First of all, there's some shady stuff that's been reported
about them. But since I have not corroborated it, I'm not going to try to bring
that out here. But there are some things that some people have mentioned that
Seem to be less than honest, but I'll just leave that there again. I'm not saying
that they are less than honest I'm just saying there's reports of that The problem
is with organizations like AFA most people have never heard of them and The ones
that have heard of them hear stuff like this Where these people set themselves up
to be the purest and everybody else of the Compromiser if you don't see things from
their point of view. I will tell you right now, GOA,
the Firearms Policy Coalition and the Second Amendment Foundation are the bulldogs out
there on the front lines. They're the ones knee deep in the fight out there,
bringing the fight to the legislators and going after cities and states and even the
federal government with lawsuits, yes, by paying high -powered attorneys to go after
these people and to bring about change. To call the people at GOA,
many of whom I know personally, and I'm talking about Eric Pratt, the guy at the
top, and Luis Valdez, the director here in Florida, those guys are some of the most
straight -laced, firm -backed, morally -minded people,
they are far more purist than you could ever shake a stick at.
They're far more, what's it like? Yes, they want the Second Amendment to be restored
to its original glory, okay? So to accuse them,
of somehow being half -hearted or sellouts is, it pisses me off,
it really does. Because I'm a member of all of those organizations except NRA and
that offends me personally. Again, because I know the people of GOA.
Matter of fact, I know a lot of the members because I am one and I meet many
others. So to sit there and say that they're sellouts because they didn't,
I don't know what more they could have done or should have done to make the effect
the change on the OBBB, the one big beautiful bill.
To sit there and say that is slander if you ask me.
No, it really is. And if you put it in print, it's libelous. So you can make
these allegations all day long, but I don't know of any legislation that has been
backed by the AFA. I don't know any lawsuits that have been put forth by the AFA.
Now, maybe I'm just ignorant of it because I've never heard of it. I don't know
much about them at all, except for the fact that I know this. Every time there is
some big fight for the Second Amendment going on, these guys rear their heads,
and there's another organization out there called the American Gun Association, which
has been found to do a lot of fraudulent fundraising, according to at ripoff .com
and these these guys come out of the woodwork and start decrying the GOA,
start decrying firearms policy coalition and second amendment foundation and denigrating
them as less than uh what should I say putting forth a half -hearted effort and
that they are the rear the real purist and you need to send them your money and
they'll fight for you.
Yeah, go to ripoff .com and type in American Gun Association and see what pops up
and read that. Now, American Firearms Association and American Gun Association are two
different entities. I'm not trying to conflate the two. I'm just saying those kind
of groups love to go out there and decry everybody else and say, "Well, you guys
are less than interested in getting this done,
and we're the purists, so give us your money and not them." No, I'm not going to
do that. So, Tom, God only knows how the house will deal with the NFA items and
the one big beautiful bill, which I'm not sure why it's called that, but if we're
judging by past experience with elected officials, we should expect betrayal, but that
betrayal will not come from GOA or from FPC or from Second Amendment Foundation.
I can assure you that. It's kind of like at this point, I'm ready now to go ahead
and draft a resolution of non -compliance and I already of working on it actually,
against the ATF and the NFA. It's also time, rather than to organize into new
groups, large and trying to create more Second Amendment groups, I think we should
consolidate them more into those three groups I mentioned, and that is Gun Owners of
America, the Firearms Policy Coalition, and the Second Amendment Foundation. If we
pour our money into those known fighters for our rights and we know that our money
is going to go for lawsuits and other things like that against cities and states
and municipalities and against gun control, then let's put our money behind them.
We know they're already fighting. Let's help support them. That's my, you know,
that's my best advice right there. So, the NFA and all other gun control laws to
try to segue into another direction here now, the NFA and all those gun control
laws rest solely on the unconstitutional premise that possession,
mere possession of certain items equates to at criminal intent,
and that is a notion that is so far removed from the principles of liberty and the
Constitution that it can't possibly see daylight. So if you own one of these NFA
items without suffering through their licensing process, then you're a criminal as far
as the government's concerned. Well, what made you a criminal? Well, you exercised
your rights without their oh -so -gracious permission, that's what! You didn't pay
them, and you didn't grovel for the government's permission, and you are therefore
morally unqualified to own the same weapons that the government does as far as
they're concerned. Yeah, the reason the government thinks you and I cannot be trusted
with the same guns as their enforcers are is because we're purposely and falsely
viewed by them as morally unfit to keep and bear them. That's what it boils down
to. How do you like that? How do you like the fact that your government that is
supposed to be upholding and defending your rights and the Constitution that enshrines
them views you as morally unfit to wield the same weapons that they do.
Yeah, that's their excuse, of course, because there's absolutely no evidence that
corroborates that stupidity.
Ironically, of course, the government is the only entity in this country that has
proven itself totally incapable of peaceful coexistence with the lawful citizenry,
not to mention being totally incapable of being trusted with firearms.
So to grant themselves the excuse to infringe our rights,
the government likes to pretend to want to prevent violent crime. Yes,
it's all done in the name of prevention.
The government was never granted the authority to prevent crime or to even attempt
to prevent crime in this country because the founders knew good and dadgum stinking
well. They would use such a premise criminally for lack of a better term.
They would use it to enhance government and not to protect the rights of the
people. So now they've granted themselves this, for lack of a better term again,
criminal excuse to infringe our rights, the excruciatingly stupid assumption that it's
the government's job to prevent crime at all costs, including but not limited to
civilian disarmament. That's quite a fallacy and again I say it's foreign completely
to constitutional principle. That's the same fallacious excuse that the government,
local law enforcement, and national guardsmen gave themselves as an excuse to disarm
residents of New Orleans and post -Katrina. Now,
anybody with the IQ of a flea knows that the government is absolutely unable to
keep evil people from doing evil things, much less keep them from acquiring guns.
And the government's, what should I say, how would I put this, impotent gun control
laws have repeatedly proven to be utterly useless when it comes to preventing crime.
It's one of their most glaring failures, actually, if you think about it, but it's
conveniently disregarded. All of that's disregarded by the government and by too many
people here in this country not to mention the media. The government's stated mission
to attempt to "prevent crime," then grants them the oh -so -vaunted justification,
in their shallow minds, way to use any heavy -handed approach to prevent crime and
they'll do and they'll they'll will walk all over your rights to keep you safe
including but not limited to disarming the citizenry of certain firearms like the NFA
does. The civilian disarmament cartels and their puke worthy cult -like followers also
love to propagate the false notion that the government should regulate every nook and
cranny of the free exercise of our rights, you know, to keep us safe and to
"prevent crime" and this idiocy is then swallowed by their sycophants and is then
regurgitated by those same sycophants to their friends and so on and so on.
The actual purpose of the NFA, to people who actually have some sense,
as well as all other gun control laws also, is to grant the government, under false
pretenses, of course, a monopoly on force and violence. That's really all that is.
Gun control is not about guns. It's about control. That's it.
Nothing more, certainly nothing less.
and crime prevention.
What a farce. What an absolute farce. Bear in mind that many of the people crafting
and voting for these flagrant infringements are pretty much criminals themselves. A
lot of them have taken an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, but toss that
oath aside as soon as they enter office.
elected officials that propose and or pass illegal infringement laws.
As far as I'm concerned, they may as well walk through Arlington National Cemetery
and piss all over the graves of our fallen, because that's what they're doing when
they try to infringe our rights under color of law. You keep that in mind,
because Washington and any other state in the union that has disarmed their people
of any arms capable enough to defend themselves against the government, they don't
want to give back what they've stolen under Cutter of Law. They don't want to give
up their ability to infringe our rights and continue to infringe them under Cutter
of Law in direct violation of US Code 18242. And unfortunately that same attitude
seems to also permeate a lot of the state governments within this nation and I'm
gonna reference North Carolina here. Yes, North Carolina governor recently vetoed some
bills and one of them would have gifted back, I know we can't give it back to
them, the right of 18 to 20 year olds to carry concealed firearms.
Well, well, well. I'll tell you more about that when we come back after this brief
commercial timeout. Don't go anywhere because all of the list of the retention squads
are on standby. And you know what that means.

We've been talking about how government likes to grant itself any excuse to infringe
the rights of the people to keep and bear arms. And once that right falls, the
rest of them do too. If you don't believe me, look at all of the states like
California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado is now going down the tubes, New York City
and New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and so on and so forth. Look what's going on
in those states. Look at how parental rights are immediately stripped right after
they pass assault weapons bans. Check that out. That's what's going on there.
Once you are no longer able to defend yourself with war -like arms,
they will do to you whatever they damn well feel like doing to you and don't you
don't you make any mistake about that whatsoever. Once they take your rights,
they don't want to give it back. Once they take power from you by infringing your
rights under color of law, they will never give it back willingly. They will never
volunteer it back. They will have to be forced into giving it back either through
legislation or litigation or final, you know, the final solution.
I don't want to sound Nazi when I say that. The final, what should I say, the
last resort, not the final solution, would be to take up arms to defend are right
to keep and bear them. I pray we never have to get to that extent, but that
option is on the table. For all of you monitoring this program in the federal
agencies, that option is always on the table. And we outnumber you horrifically.
We outgun you laughably. We outgun you so ridiculously high.
not to mention the trillions of rounds of ammunition that we own. You don't want to
pick a fight with us. If we decide to band together and organize, we would run
over you like a lawnmower on a hot summer day in Florida. North Carolina has a
Democrat communist governor and his veto pen recently violated the rights of North
Carolinians there. In spite of North Carolina legislators hoping to make the Tar Heel
State the 30th state in the nation to have constitutional carry. Governor Josh Stein
back on June 20th vetoed the constitutional carry bill that would have taken the
government's handcuffs off the right of law -abiding citizens, law -abiding adults over
the age of 18 and under the age of 21 to carry concealed handguns.
And to do so also without having to jump through various government hoops and pay
fees to do so. Now, why is it that 18 -year -olds can enlist in the military and
die for their country under arms? They can be trusted while in the military service
with those guns, but not, well, not of civilians, or they can be trusted to vote,
they can be trusted to file lawsuits, they can be charged as adults for crimes they
commit, but somehow they're not allowed to enjoy the free exercise of only one of
their rights simply because they're ages 18 to 20. How does that please help me
make that make sense? Well, think you can. I would, of course, I was saying that
rhetorically. So Governor Stein released this press release from his office.
And as if Governor Stein takes action on four bills, I'm only gonna read the stuff
about Senate Bill 50 because that's the one we were referencing there. So it says
Governor Stein made the following statement on his veto of Senate Bill 50.
And he said, "This bill makes North Carolinians less safe." Okay,
how? How, Governor, did you do any research on all the other 29 states that
actually have constitutional carry? I mean, if you had, you would not have made such
a willfully ignorant blanket statement. But of course, facts don't concern you,
do they? Because you're a Democrat communist and you don't care. You were going to
veto that thing no matter what. No matter what kind of evidence was presented, you
planned on vetoing it because you don't trust your citizens 18 to 20 years old to
carry firearms. To freely exercise the right they were born with, you snot -nosed
little scumbag. He said it would make North Carolinians less safe and it undermines
responsible gun ownership.
How? How would responsible gun ownership be suddenly transformed,
I mean responsible gun owners be suddenly transformed into irresponsible gun owners by
this bill? Please explain that to me. How does this undermine those who are already
responsibly keeping and bearing arms? That is such—when I read that,
I can almost hear the voice of a brain jackass. That is such stupidity.
He said, "Therefore, I am vetoing it." No kidding. The bill eliminates training
requirements associated with concealed carry permits. Know what it does? It takes away
revenue from the state of North Carolina. You lying suck of crap. It eliminates
training requirements. Well, how many of our other rights are we required to have
training before we exercise it? Name one. You don't get to tell me I'm required to
show you proof of training government before I can freely exercise my rights.
Besides that most people already seek out training. I don't know too many people
that don't seek out training once they decide to carry a firearm. He said it also
reduces the age to carry a concealed weapon from 21 to 18 years old authorizing
teenagers not teenagers they're adults jackass, to carry a concealed weapon with no
training whatsoever, that's dangerous. Okay, so allowing citizens who are considered to
be adults in the eyes of the law to freely exercise the right they were born with
is dangerous. How so? What are you basing this on? What anecdotal evidence can you
point to from all the other states that have constitutional carry that have down 18
to 20 year olds to be totally irresponsible when it comes to keeping and bearing
arms. Here in Florida, there were never any issues with any 18 to 20 year olds
keeping and bearing arms until the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Act passed, of course.
So why do you automatically always assume all of you Democrats out there that
nobody's gonna seek out training? They're just gonna start carrying a gun and be as
stupid as they possibly can with it. That simply is not...
off the rights of the people in your state, endanger law enforcement officers. How?
Explain that. Surely you could point to any of the other anecdotal, you know, states
there, all of the other 29 states, and present some sort of evidence from them,
but no, you just make a blanket statement with no, what should I say?
I had a loss for words today, apparently, with no corroboration, no corroborative
evidence. You just make a statement based on your ignorant assumptions, and I dare
say willfully ignorant assumptions, and then think that, well, I have an excuse that
I'm granting myself the clear conscience of doing this. Now, I'm trying to keep
people safe. Bull fertilizer. How does your ignorant butt know any of this when you
won't even consult other Constitutional carry states did you ask Vermont? They've been
a constitutional carry state since the Constitution Maybe you should talk to them
about all the trouble their law enforcement officers are having there not only that
since when is the
impact on law enforcement, a good excuse for infringing the rights of the people.
The free exercise of any of our rights is never contingent upon the opinions of law
enforcement officials or with how they think the free exercise of our rights might
impact their job or their safety. Yeah, I'm getting really tired of hearing the term
officer safety. I'm all for our cops being protected on the side of the road and
for being even respected until they act disrespectful. I'm all for them being as
safe as possible. But please tell me why officer safety trumps my safety on the
same side of that same road. Tell me about it. Please explain that to me. How come
their safety takes precedence over mine, because it shouldn't. They're citizens just
like me. The problem is the fact that they're the enforcers for the state or for
the city, and ultimately the state, makes them the protected class,
not just a protect or class. The bill would also make the job of law enforcement
office officers more difficult and less safe. safe. How? He says we can and should
protect the right to keep and bear arms, but you're not. And you didn't.
You assaulted it. Again. We can and should protect the right to keep and bear arms
without recklessly endangering law enforcement officers and our people.
How? Moron. How? How does the free exercise of our rights endanger law enforcement
officers and the people of your state? Once again point to any of the other 29
states that have constitutional carry and Tell me how the free exercise of the
people's rights there has recklessly endangered law enforcement officers or other
citizens My goodness, you are not, you're willfully ignorant. You don't want to see
all the evidence and the anecdotal evidence that proves that you're full of crap.
You know very little about the Second Amendment to start with, so don't give me
this crap about wanting to protect the right to keep and bear arms. And notice he
said the right to bear arms, he didn't even say the right to keep.
You don't know anything about the Second Amendment at all, Governor. You are
constitutionally ignorant. You are law enforcement.
Lynn their support and probably because so many of the people of North Carolina
We're wanting to go all torches and pitchforks on the governor's mansion, which is
totally understandable Sheriff Charles Blackwood from Orange County,
North Carolina made this idiotic comment. I Am and always have been an advocate of
the Second Amendment You sir are a liar or you're willfully ignorant,
neither one of those is acceptable for a peace officer.
I am and always have been an advocate of the Second Amendment. Well, if you were,
sir, you wouldn't be chiming in on this in the affirmative for the governor's
signature as he vetoed this. He said, "And if anything," listen to this,
now listen to this, this is off the charts and if anything the permitting process
creates an enhancement to the Second Amendment.
Really? How, Chucky? How does the permitting process,
how is it that government permission slips, which are constitutionally repugnant,
how that they enhance the Second Amendment. You, sir, are also woefully and woefully
ignorant of the Second Amendment. It's true meaning. It's true intentions and your
duty to uphold and defend it because you took an oath to uphold and defend the
Constitution. And now you stand here and make a jackass comment like this. He said,
this bill is counterproductive to the public safety of North Carolinians.
How did you arrive at that comically stupid presumption that letting people freely
exercise their rights is counterproductive to public safety? I'm not sure if there's
a meter that could measure your stupidity, Sheriff. You're definitely unqualified to
be the sheriff of Orange County. You are not qualified, whatever. You took an oath
and you violated it. Get out of the office. Get a real constitutionalist in there
that really does uphold and defend the Second Amendment. You have no bloody idea
what it even means. Moron, you stinking moron. He's headed leaders from both parties
have recognized that. I'm pleased to see that Governor Stein has vetoed this bill
and I hope common sense prevails. You know, it always makes me wanna go into a
cussing fit whenever I hear some brain donkey like this in a public office calling
the infringement of the Second Amendment common sense. It's not common sense. You
possess nothing that even approaches common sense if that's your sentiment. Oh,
would he not to be outdone? Durham County Sheriff Clarence Burkhead made this
statement. As a sheriff sworn to protect, I commend Governor Josh Stein for vetoing
Senate Bill 50. Sworn to protect what, sir? What did you swear to protect?
You swore an oath to uphold and defend the Second Amendment. Yes, and all the other
rights too. You took an oath to protect that. The way you say this,
I think your oath was to protect your superiors above you and not the people. I
come in Governor Josh Stein for vetoing Senate Bill 50. Well, that's because you're
a constitutionally ignorant mental pygmy. You're welcome. This legislation would have
made it harder, not easier, for law enforcement to keep our community safe. Oh
first, moron. Allowing the free exercise of the people's rights doesn't make the job
of law enforcement more difficult. You're either lying or you're stupid and neither
one's acceptable for a sheriff. Second, moron the free exercise of our god -given
blood -bought rights is not contingent upon how law enforcement feels about it or
your ignorant opinions your opinion has no bearing on the free exercise of my rights
third moron it makes no sense to tell the people that their rights must be
infringed for their own safety Oh, I stand with the governor for vetoing the rights
of 18 to 20 year old adults here in North Carolina. Well, aren't you a hero?
The governor put public safety first, and I stand with him in that decision. No,
he did not put public safety first. He put your safety first, yeah,
law enforcement, your safety first. And that's why you're voting for your support and
voicing your support for this criminality that he signed. He clearly was far more
concerned about the safety of the enforcer class than the people. Just like you,
Sheriff. Here's the problem I see in law enforcement in general these days.
Oh, Royce, you're anti -cop. shut your piehole. You make that allegation against me,
you better bring the receipts. Just because I make a comment about a pervading
attitude that I just exemplified here in reading these statements from sheriffs,
I have every right to say that that is a wrong anti -constitutional sentiment.
That doesn't make me anti -cop. Does that make them anti -constitution?
As far as I'm concerned, it does because they voiced those intentions. They voiced
those sentiments. Oh, we got to keep the public safe by inhibiting your free
exercise of your rights.
Far more concerned about law enforcement than the people.
I don't like this pervading attitude in law enforcement today that their safety
trumps ours. No it doesn't. Your safety is as equally important as mine but not
superior to mine. Your safety is important but so is mine on the exact same level
as And if you're going to sit there and say, "No, it ain't," well,
we're going to fight. We'll fight with words first. You want a fist fight later?
I'll meet you at the gym. We'll get in the ring. We'll have it out. But you're
full of crap if you think that our rights are subject to the opinions of law
enforcement or they're subject and the free exercise of them are subject by a stupid
governor who who doesn't know the first dadgum thing about the second amendment,
doesn't know crap about firearms, doesn't know crap about firearms owners, and makes
idiotic comments while vetoing bills that would have relinquished the government's hold
on the rights of the people to keep and bear arms. I'm talking about the 18 to 20
year old adults there in North Carolina. I can't figure out for the life of me why
so many States are deliberately infringing on the rights of those adults in that age
bracket. Not to mention I can't figure out why the DOJ hasn't issued an amicus
brief in favor of all the lawsuits going on in all these states against this ban
on 18 to 20 year olds freely exercising their God -given bloodbought rights. I can't
figure that out for the life of me, especially since little Pam Blondie claimed to
be such a champion of the Second Amendment. Honey, you're about as much a champion
of the Second Amendment as these two sheriffs and this governor in North Carolina
are. None of you know a damn thing about the Constitution. You don't know a dead
gum thing about the intentions of the founders when they penned it, you don't know
crap. And that sickens me because you are the ones that took an oath before you
enter your respective offices saying that you would uphold it, you would defend it.
And yet, what do you do? You broke your oath. You are an oath breaker and you are
unfit for office.
Y 'all stay in contact with your reps, especially if you all of you in North
Carolina, let your governor know what a flaming jackass he is. All of you out there
in Durham County, let Sheriff Burkhead know what a flaming ignorant jackass he is.
All of you out there in Orange County, North Carolina, get a hold of Sheriff
Charles Blackwood, let him know what an idiot he is and what an oath breaker he
is. Tell them about it. Let them know what you think. You have a right to do
that. Let them know that he needs to go back to, he needs to re -study the
Constitution. Tell them to join, what is it, Hillsdale, I think it's Hillsdale,
what is it, oh the Heritage Foundation. Tell them to take some online classes on
the Constitution and the Bill of Rights with the Heritage Got a heritage file. I
think it's heritage .org. Don't quote me on that. Look it up online. You'll find it.
Stay in contact with everybody that are in elected positions. Let them know what the
Constitution says. Remind them of their of their earthbound duty to uphold and defend
it. Always leave your house armed. Extra magazines. Make sure you got a trauma kit.
And Never forget, incoming rounds always have the right of way. Royce out. (upbeat
music)
