And we've got a few decals left, Shooting Straight Radio Podcast decals,
and they're free. All you got to do is ask for them. I got more coming. Don't worry. I had a big
pile of them go out a couple of days ago. And definitely some of you are still waiting patiently
and I'll get them out to you ASAP, I promise you. And I really appreciate all of you listening and
thank you for the feedback that so many of you give. Some of you are regulars at that and I really
appreciate that.
Especially when...
We're talking about various Second Amendment issues around the country, and I love it when people
in various states send me information about what's going on in their state. And a lot of that is
stuff that doesn't come out even in the Second Amendment platform news. So I definitely appreciate
it. Some of you guys helped me with show prep unwittingly, and I really appreciate that.
All right, there's been a development in the Florida three-day wait here. We talked about it in
the last episode. And by the way, thank you, Henry, in Toms River, New Jersey. I really appreciate
you reminding me, because I did forget to bring that out, that if you have a concealed carry permit
or if you are in law enforcement, that three-day wait does not apply. I'm going to address that in
just a few minutes. But first, let's talk about this development.
Waiting period is now set to be permanently, permanently enjoined beyond the time required for the
background check after state officials have agreed to this judgment in the case known as Dunn
versus Glass. Here's an article by John Crump, who, by the way, is a butt kicker and a name taker
for the Second Amendment. He has filed suits lately against Virginia. state police superintendent
and others in helping the good people of Virginia in their fight against their state government's
attempted assault weapons ban, the disarming of the militia.
So here's the article by John Crump. It says, in a major Second Amendment challenge have accepted a
Rule 68 offer of judgment from Florida officials, clearing the way for a federal court to declare
the state's three-day firearm waiting period unconstitutional and permanently enjoin its
enforcement beyond the time required for a background check. What that means is,
well, most background checks usually take about I don't know, anywhere from instantaneous to a
couple of hours. Way too long, if you ask me, because I don't need a background check to go to
church, but I'm not going to run that rabbit trail right now. But anyway, it doesn't take three
days to run a background check. And the way Florida law has been reading,
and as I understood it before, was whichever came first, the three-day wait or the background
check returning as showing the person to be eligible to own a gun okay so it says that declared it
um i'm sorry i'm I'm jumping ahead of myself here. It says,
because the defendants saw the writing on the wall after years of post-Bruin litigation, they made
the offer on June 5th, and the plaintiffs took it the same day. The notice of acceptance was filed
in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in the case Mitchell James Dunn et
al. versus Mark Glass et al., and the judgment will now be entered in favor of the plaintiffs.
on all claims. It's a clean win with no trial and no drama.
The declaratory relief spells it out. Florida's waiting period under statute 790.0655 and the
related constitutional provisions burden the right to keep and bear arms without any historical
tradition to support any arbitrary delay unconnected to background checks.
Well, I don't know if you just caught that. But this certainly opens the doors to shut down
background checks. Royce, why you want to shut down background checks? You want evil people to get
their hands on guns? They're kind of doing that already. And they usually don't do it through gun
stores. They buy them on the corner from Ray Ray and Ice Pick. They don't want to come into a gun
shop and be under the scrutiny of people there. No, they're going to go talk to their criminal
brethren and get one that way. Oh, they go to gun shows and buy them already now.
No, they really don't. 0.7% of all crime guns are purchased through gun shows,
and those are usually done through straw purchases, not by gangbangers and stuff like that.
Back to the article. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeyer has already concluded that the
provisions violate the Second Amendment and the other defendants are bound by that conclusion.
Uthmeyer made this statement. Every government office, including mine, exists to protect your God
-given rights as enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. Hallelujah, glory to God, and shame on the
devil. How we actually have a constitutionally minded man in our AG position here in Florida.
That's just amazing. I wish to heaven. that every other AG in every other state had this particular
mindset. Matter of fact, Mr. Uthmeyer, if you have any of your family members who would like to
become AG in like, say, Virginia, New York, Illinois, and the like,
we'll do what we can to get them elected there. And as long as they think like you do regarding the
Second Amendment, I think that'd be great. He said, that's why we're setting a landmark federal
case that declares Florida's three-day firearm purchase waiting period unconstitutional under the
Second Amendment. Think about this also, people. This is a fantastic precedent.
Yes, because so many courts rely on precedent. This is a good precedent.
And so many states can now challenge there. waiting periods, as happens here in Florida.
Remember, let's see, is this a federal court case? Let's see, let's see, I believe it is.
Yeah, a U.S. District Court, that is federal. So, if you have a federal court judgment saying that
waiting periods are unconstitutional, just think of the ripple effect now in all the other states.
Now, to expound on the last episode in the area of these waiting periods.
And again, thank you, Henry and Tom's River, New Jersey. Florida does have an exception to the
three to five day waiting periods here. Like I said, if you have that special morality card known
as a carry permit, yeah, apparently that card infuses you with morality and the desire to be
nothing but a law abiding citizen. Because apparently only if you have one of those can you
presently circumvent the three to five day waiting period. That's why I call it the morality card.
I joke about that at work all the time. Matter of fact, I ask some of these people when they come
up. to buy guns. I get ready to ring them out. I'll ask them, are you military? Are you active duty
military or law enforcement? No, you have a morale, a morality card. And they look at me sideways.
Like, what are you talking about? And then I explain and I tell them, well, yeah, if you have that
special card with a little blue strip at the top, you have more morality and righteousness than
anybody else, any of your fellow citizens. And you can be trusted to take your gun home the same
day. Yes, I speak fluent sarcasm and cynicism for that matter.
So if you're active duty military or a law enforcement officer,
or you have a morality card, you can circumvent that three-day wait. Now,
in light of that, please explain to me how this is not...
the favoring of one class of people, one class of citizens over another class of citizens when it
comes to the free exercise of our rights. We've already explained in the last episode that waiting
periods are, they are definitely infringements, they are burdens upon the free exercise of our
rights, especially considering what if you have some poor woman, she's... trying to get away from
an abusive spouse, and she has to file a restraining order against him,
which we know are only pieces of paper, and they get violated all the time.
What if she needs a gun to defend herself? Oh, well, somebody else can buy it for her.
No, that's a straw purchase and a violation of federal law, and you can spend 10 years in prison
and get a quarter million dollar fine if you do that. So... She wants to stay law-abiding,
but if she wants to get a gun right now, she has to wait three days if she doesn't have that
special morality card. So, we know, like I said,
that restraining orders are nothing but a piece of paper, and they have all the force of a piece of
paper. They don't protect anybody unless the person that's served against,
the respondent, is actually someone who will obey it. What if he doesn't?
What if this woman cannot afford to wait three days? By the way, I know there are three or four
instances I've covered over the life of this program that basically...
bear this out. These anecdotal stories that show where women who needed a gun could not get a gun
because they didn't have a morality card or they didn't have a FOID card like in Illinois and they
didn't have a carry permit and they were killed by their estranged spouse.
Yeah, the violent spouse. So how is it that she is to be disfavored in her right beneath?
police officers, and active duty military personnel, or those citizens who went and got a card that
says they're more moral and upright and can be trusted before the three-day mark with their gun.
That's exactly what that is. I don't like anything that carves out an exception for any class,
but yet that's exactly what happens, especially in all the communist-occupied territories.
Now, while we're talking about Florida, Our legislature, many of you guys remember here in Florida,
last year we had the sales tax-free period for buying guns and ammo.
It went from September 1st to December 31st, and that is going to be going into law now.
That's going to be a regular thing. And our Florida legislature has passed a bill including tax
holidays for firearms, firearms accessories, hunting and fishing and camping supplies.
Firearm suppressors are also included in the accessories part now.
It wasn't last year. They weren't last year, but they are this year. And if Governor DeSantis signs
this bill into law, and I have no reason to think he might not, the majority of the act is going to
take place. It's going to become effective July 1st of this year. So here's an article by Dean
White. Dean Weingarten, I'm sorry, from Ammo Land, Florida tax holiday includes guns,
ammo suppressors, and firearm accessories. The Florida legislature has passed a bill including tax
holidays for firearms, firearms accessories, and hunting, fishing, and camping supplies.
Impressors are included as firearms accessories. If Governor DeSantis signs the bill,
it will take effect July 1, 2026. Earlier bill materials discussed a separate firearm accessory
exemption, but the enrolled bill places the firearm ammunition and firearm accessory language in
Section 43, the hunting, fishing, and camping sales tax holiday. The firearm accessories are for
pistols, rifles, and shotguns, which fire projectiles using an explosive charge.
According to the NRA, weather suppressors would be included in the bill was uncertain until the
vote on May 29th. An amendment had included them in the bill,
but those tax holidays could have been stripped from the bill before the final vote, but they were
not. Firearms, ammunition, and listed firearms accessories are included,
and the accessories include firearm barrels, firearm cases or range bags,
Firearm charging handles for your AR and others. Firearm pistol grips.
Hand guards. Holsters. Internal firearm parts and components.
Magazines and other ammunition feeding devices or carriers. Shooting mats.
Shooting rests. Shooting bipods. Shooting chronographs. If you don't know what that is,
that measures your bullet speed. Sights. and or optics, slides and or cylinders,
firearm slings, stocks or braces, cleaning kits, suppressors,
and triggers. Wow, that's a nice comprehensive list.
Last year's sales tax holiday was nowhere near as generous. So I'm really happy to live in Florida,
especially come September 1st. All right. So. One more thing before we go to the break.
I was looking at firearm ranking, firearm freedom ranking. Actually, what it is, it tells the
percentage per 100 citizens in each state of how many of them actually own guns.
And this is very telling. And the proof of the insidiousness of gun control can be seen in these
stats. And what I mean by that is, I've said before, In all the communist-occupied territories,
their goal is to disarm their citizens. Why? So they can rule them with an iron fist.
That's why. And the proof is in these stats. This info also could be easily used as evidence in a
class-action lawsuit by all pro-Constitution citizens in all of the communist-occupied
territories because these stats prove that they do infringe on that right.
And every state that does that needs to be sued into the poorhouse. And a matter of fact,
all of the elected officials that ever voted for it or enforced it need to be imprisoned for life
at hard labor. And I say that with generosity, of course. So here's gun ownership ranking by state.
And these numbers are per 100 residents. Montana,
66.3. Wyoming, 66.2. Alaska, 64.5.
Idaho, 60.1. West Virginia, 58.5. Arkansas,
57.2. Mississippi, 55.8.
Alabama, the same, 55.8. South Dakota, 55.3.
North Dakota, 55.1. So you already have a greater than 50% number of people in all of those
states that are armed. I like this. Oklahoma, 54.6.
Kentucky, 53.1. Louisiana, Louisiana there,
especially in New Orleans. 51.7, Tennessee 51.6,
Oregon dead center at 50.5, Vermont 49.4,
South Carolina 49.2, Georgia 48.9,
Kansas 48.8, Missouri 47.3, Nevada 46.8,
Maine 46.8, Utah 46.3, Arizona 46.2,
New Mexico 45.8. North Carolina, 45.7 Texas,
45.3 Wisconsin, 45.2 Nebraska, 45.1 Colorado,
44.8 Indiana, 44.6 Virginia, 43.6 Iowa,
42.8 Minnesota 42.1. Washington State,
41.1. New Hampshire, 40.8. Pennsylvania, 40.7.
Michigan, 40.2. Ohio, 40. Okay, y'all heard Florida yet?
Well, here it is. And it's kind of sad and sickening. If these numbers are right, we Floridians
better get these numbers up. 35.3. That saddens me.
It might have a lot to do with all these Yankees moving into our state who bring their socialist
dogmas with them. I don't know. Delaware, 34.4. Now listen to the states being named now as we go
past Florida, because these are all communist-controlled areas. Delaware,
34.4. Maryland, 30.2. California, 28.3.
Illinois, 27.8. Connecticut, 23.6. Are you catching the descending numbers?
New York, 19.2. 14.9 for Hawaii. Rhode Island,
14.8. Massachusetts, 14.7. And New Jersey at 14.7.
And that's per hundred residents. We need to get those numbers up. And that's just the bottom line.
because when you see those numbers dropping as we start talking about the communist-occupied
territory, that was absolutely by design. You'd better believe it. They meant to disarm their
people, and the numbers prove that it's working. Be right back with more Shooting Straight after

We've been kind of reviewing and actually doing some, what should I say, follow-up work on the
last episode. And the second half of this one is really no different. I'm just going to reference
first the last episode where we discussed the Massachusetts school district that now allows
students professing to be members of the Sikh religion. to carry their ceremonial knives,
8-inch bladed daggers, while of course demanding at the same time that all other students remain
defenseless victims in waiting. And something tells me that those same Sikhs could easily claim
their religion requires them to be armed with AK-47s at all times, and the state would probably go
along with it, because they seek to protect all religions except the one that really matters,
and that is Christianity, of course. That is the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, what they're not okay with in Massachusetts is their fellow Americans being armed with guns,
of course. And a recent case there highlights this because A Massachusetts prosecutor was forced to
drop assault firearm charges against a man there who was a lawful legal gun owner.
He had done nothing wrong. And here's the article by Cam Edwards from June 9th.
Massachusetts gun laws are so screwy, even prosecutors can't always figure out what they say and
mean. Well, even if they can't figure it out, they'll still wing it, boy, and they'll still come
after you. You better believe it. Which begs the question about how gun owners are supposed to know
if they're in compliance or not. Great question. You know, I mean, look at the ATF.
Every rule they've got is vague. And vagary always works better for the oppressor than the
oppressed. A few months ago, a young man named Samuel Lakers was told he had to surrender his
firearms and ammunition to local police after he was served with an abuse prevention order,
one that was quickly dropped by the petitioner. I don't know how quickly it was dropped,
but it was dropped. And in spite of the fact that it was dropped, the police still showed up Mr.
Lakers' home and took his guns. How about that? In spite of the fact this order was no longer in
effect, they showed up and they seized his guns in spite of it being dropped.
They seized multiple firearms before charging him with five counts of possession of illegal assault
-style firearms, six counts of untraceable firearms,
ghost guns, and one count of... storage.
Remember I warned you about that, that these improper storage laws were basically the precursor to
giving up your Fourth Amendment rights. Wasn't necessarily the case here, but it's coming.
As Gun Owners Action League noted at the time, This case addresses many of the issues facing lawful
gun owners after the passage of Chapter 135 in 2024 in Massachusetts.
In the arrest report, it is claimed that an AR lower is in fact an assault-style firearm,
and the same goes with an upper. It is also the first time we have heard the term,
quote, finished lower slash upper. You know that term does not even appear in any law book
anywhere. Yeah, as in Massachusetts, because Cam Edwards noted that here.
He said that term does not appear in the law anywhere. Second, the charges of unserialized lower
receivers are concerning since the law states that chapter 140, section 121C,
all firearms shall have a serial number in accordance. with the requirements of this section within
one year after the online serialization system is available.
Jim Wallace, the executive director of Gun Owners Action League, said, This is a bomb that we have
been waiting to be dropped on someone post Chapter 135. There are so many unconstitutional layers
to this case.
Mr.
Edwards continues his article here. He said, well... Mr. Lakers got some good news this week.
GOAL is reporting that Hampden County prosecutors have decided to dismiss all of the assault-style
firearms charges after his attorney, Dan Hagan, argued that they were improper,
quote, Because the grandfathering clauses in Chapter 135 bring ownership dates into question,
and the police report uses terms that do not appear in the law.
Yeah, that's Unserialized Upper Lower Receiver. But notice that there was no arguments concerning
like, hey, Massachusetts gun laws violate the Second and Fourteenth Amendment. Oh well,
just throwing that out there.
They said this is a great day for Mr. Lakers, but it is also a great day for GOAL,
its members, and the Massachusetts firearms community as a whole. GOAL's advocacy and education
efforts are making a real difference. I am sure that law enforcement and prosecutors are listening,
and it is beginning to be reflected in their charging decisions.
Well... Mr. Hagan obviously has much more faith in the listening and comprehension abilities of
Massachusetts law enforcement and prosecutors than I do. Yeah, just throwing that out there,
too. He said this is great news, even though Lakers is still facing charges for possessing un
-serialized firearms. What does serialization actually do, remember?
Does nothing but give the government control over it. That's right. and improper storage.
It's really odd that the prosecution is still pursuing a case against Lakers for having un
-serialized firearms since the statute gave gun owners A one-year grace period to serialize guns
once the online serialization system was available. And Mr. Edwards closes with this.
As far as I can tell, the system came online last September or October, so Lakers should still be
within that grace period. Well, we'll keep you posted on this case and let you know what happens.
Last Story of the Day by A.W.R. Hawkins, who writes for... a very staunch Second Amendment man.
The title is Chicago White Sox support gun control lobbies every town for gun safety.
Let me just throw out a friendly warning to all of you sports teams out there and all of you
Hollywood people. Whenever you align yourselves with these civilian disarmament cartels,
it doesn't do you any favors at all. It actually diminishes your credibility in our site.
I just want you to know that because I think you need to know that. You come out there with your
sanctimonious air like you're better than us gun owners. Like we're somehow complicit in the
murders and evil doings of bad people with guns, simply by virtue of the fact that we own the same
type of weapons that some idiot did something bad with. Yeah, you treat us like that. You show your
contempt for us. You talk down to us. You speak with condescension. And we don't like you.
Yeah, me especially. Here's the article. The Chicago White Sox. used an ex-post to proclaim their
effort, I'm sorry, to proclaim their support for Mikey Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun
Safety, one of the most prominent groups in the gun control lobby,
yes, and funded heavily by leftist billionaires like Nanny Boy Bloomberg.
The White Sox posted their support for Everytown on Gun Violence Awareness Day,
which was June 5th. Oh, how many of y'all knew that? How many of you guys celebrated or wore
orange on Gun Violence Awareness Day? I was unaware of Gun Violence Awareness.
The White Sox also noted their... I'm tripping over my tongue here, sorry. The White Sox also noted
their support of Chicago CRED, the Metropolitan Peace Initiative,
Bright Star Community Outreach, and the University of Chicago Medical Center's Violence Recovery
Program. The Philadelphia Eagles marked Gun Violence Awareness Day with an ex-post also.
In the post, they changed their team's logo colors from green and white to orange and white.
as orange is the official color of Gun Violence Awareness Day.
So I guess the Denver Broncos are in constant compliance with Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Gun Violence Awareness Day's website, wearorange.org, is bankrolled by various funds that exist
under the Everytown umbrella. Well, here's my two cents on all of this crap.
First of all... To you sports teams out there that love to lend your credibility and your attention
and the attention that you receive to these leftist,
constitution-hating, civilian disarmament cartels. You're all idiots.
Shut up and play ball. Play baseball. Play football. Play handball.
Play pickleball. But shut up. stinking pie hole when it comes to constitutional rights and the free
exercise thereof, because you shred your own credibility with us.
And I tell you what politics, politics brought me to the place.
And I don't know how many years ago that I just simply don't watch NFL anymore. I don't unless
it's, and that's, I have to be at a restaurant and a football game is on. I might catch myself
watching it, but what. Shut me off with NFL was Colin Kraepernick and all of his fellow leftist
jackasses who would take a knee in protest during the national anthem.
Get your sorry scumbag butts off the field, as far as I'm concerned. You want to disrespect the
flag that so many of our servicemen and women came back under, you know,
their casket draped with it. And you want to protest it because you think there's injustice in this
country. There's injustice in every corner of the globe, idiots. By disrespecting this flag.
What are you actually doing? What are you actually accomplishing besides bringing down the ire of
patriotic people upon your stupid head? I sent Mr. Roger Goodell a letter about that,
which I'm sure he probably never even read. I don't care. I sent it anyway. And I let him know what
I thought about him and Colin Kraepernick and everything else. Don't use your sports field,
your abilities, your status as sports heroes to try to Give credibility to people who want to
disarm your fellow citizens. Yeah, shut up and play ball. You're being used.
You're being used. Your credibility is being used. And that's just the bottom line.
The Gun Violence Awareness Day is being presented here under the false intimation that all gun
usage, whether by evil people or people defending themselves, is considered gun violence and
therefore it's bad, leading to false conclusions that all people that own guns are just violent
criminals-in-waiting and evil and can't be trusted with their guns. This is also presented as
some sort of gun violence remembrance day that somehow reminds us of the very real possibility of
people shooting other people. especially if you live in heavily Democrat-communist-controlled
areas of the United States. Well, first, if this gun violence was such an epidemic as you leftist
claim, you wouldn't need a special day to bring awareness to it. I don't remember any special
awareness days coming out during COVID, do you? Everybody was aware of it.
That was an epidemic, well, allegedly. I think it was a scandemic, but I'm not going to go that
route right now. Everybody knew about it. No one had to create a day to bring awareness to it.
Everybody knew about it. Secondly, we sensible Americans are already aware of the threats posed to
our safety and the safety of our rights by Democrats, the most violent political party in the
United States since it was formed in 1828. You're welcome. And that's why we keep in bare arms to
defend ourselves against these Democrats and the untold number of violent criminals that are
consistently produced by their insidiously destructive social policies. We the people arm ourselves
daily, knowing that we may indeed encounter such violent people.
And not only that, we know that we also have to counter the propaganda that's produced by this same
group of orange-wearing loudmouths that have been trying to disarm us ever since they were spawned
from freedom-hating minds. And to all of you orange-clad, self-righteous,
weak-minded people and all the high-profile people, groups, and sports figures that feel the need
to back their false-faced cause, you all apparently assume yourselves to be more moral,
smarter, and more sensible. than those of us who uphold and defend the Constitution.
By the way, that's a defense that is utterly impossible without an armed citizenry. I tell you
what, if they're treating us like crap now that we're armed, how much worse do you think it would
be if we're unarmed? We are those people under the same Constitution to defend your right to utter
some of the most ignorant crap we've ever heard, and you do so in an attempt to suppress our God
-given rights, and we don't appreciate it. You're all simpletons. You're fools. You're useful
idiots being used by traitors of this country within your chosen political party.
to disarm your fellow citizens and that for the purpose of overthrowing this nation by force of
their arms and their violence it's because of your efforts yes i'm speaking to you civilian
disarmament cartels it's because of your efforts that so many americans in multiple states across
the union have been disarmed in the face of criminal violence have been imprisoned for freely
exercising their right to keep and bear arms, have been killed by thugs because they had no means
to defend themselves. Yes, it's your doing. Your efforts have produced this.
You have produced not the public safety you claim that you're trying to bring about.
You have produced the opposite with your efforts. So I deliver to all of you this warning.
Should the Democrat Communist Party ever be successful in their overthrowing of this country,
you people, you useful idiots in the civilian disarmament cartels,
you people will be the first ones that they line up against a wall and shoot because they'll be
afraid that you might also rebel against their system just like you did against your own
constitution. Then on that particular day, your awareness of gun violence will become absolutely
crystal clear. Because when you see the soldiers line up with their guns,
and they're facing you and looking at you, and you hear the bolts of their rifles lock a cartridge
into the chamber, and you feel the warmth of your own urine cascading down your little shaking
legs, And just moments before the bullets tear into you, you're going to realize way too late that
we, the people, we, the armed citizenry, actually knew what we were talking about the entire time.
And you will know that you were betrayed by the men who spurred you on and your... ignorant quest
for civilian disarmament, people that lied to you and claimed they were just trying to keep you
safe and enhance public safety, but it's going to be too late for you and you'll have no means and
no weapons to defend yourself against their desire to kill you. And then you're going to know that
you were just a tool in the hands of evil people and you were used to betray and disarm your fellow
countrymen. So press on if you must. But we're not going to give up our arms because,
yes, we'll even defend your stupid backsides against government aggression if it ever ramps up to
that degree where we need to form the militias again. And we are rapidly approaching that day
simply because of all the Muslim threats that walk among us claiming they're here to overthrow us
and take our country over. Yeah, they're working hand-in-hand with the communists, too. We've
already talked about that. The threats are here. As far as I'm concerned, we should have started
last week, actually a couple of years ago, forming the local militias again,
and it needs to start happening. So, stock up on beans, bullets, and bandages.
We are going to be forced to form those militias again soon because of the threats that were
allowed into this country by the aforementioned Democrats. So stay locked and loaded,
stay strapped or you'll get clapped. And never forget, incoming rounds always have the right of
way. Voice out.
